Washington: The United States and allied countries will provide Ukraine with the latest combat aircraft, including the F-16.
US National Security Adviser Jack Sylvain said in a statement that President Joe Biden has informed the heads of the G7 countries of the decision to give modern warplanes, including F-16, to Ukraine. The US military will also train Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16s.
The American adviser further said that during the training of Ukrainian pilots in the coming months, it will be decided when the planes will be given to Ukraine.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky described the decision of the US and its allies as historic and admirable.
