Islamabad: The Supreme Court has fixed for hearing the revision petition of the Election Commission on the decision of May 14.
In the Supreme Court, the hearing of the petition for reconsideration of the Election Commission’s decision to hold elections on May 14 will be held on May 15. A three-member special bench headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan will conduct the hearing.
The bench will also include Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan and Justice Muneeb Akhtar. The Election Commission has taken a position in its revision petition that the Supreme Court does not have the authority to give the date of the election under the Constitution.
According to the Election Commission, elections should be held simultaneously in Punjab on May 14. The petition requested that the Supreme Court reconsider its decision to hold elections in Punjab on 14 and withdraw its decision.
