    The duration of load shedding in Karachi is more than 12 hours, citizens suffering from mental agony

    Karachi: With the increase in the intensity of heat in the city of Quaid, the duration of open and non-open load shedding of electricity has increased to more than 12 hours, which is causing severe mental anguish to the citizens and especially the business class.

    With the onset of summer, the load-shedding time is already 10 to 12 hours in most parts of the city and even more in some parts. According to a survey, electricity supply is suspended in Mahmudabad from 2 pm to 6 am, 8 am to 10 am, 3 pm to 5 pm and 8 pm to 10 pm.

     

    Electricity supply is suspended in Landhi from 10 am to 1 am, 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, 7 pm to 10:30 pm and 11:30 pm to 1 am. Residents of Liaquatabad said that electricity supply is suspended from 9:30 am to 12:00 am, 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm and from 11:00 pm to 12:30 pm.

    Besides, New Karachi, Sirjani Town, Teiser Town Khuda Ki Basti, Gulshan Mimar, various areas of Baldia Town, Golimar, Gulbahar, Garden, Soldier Bazar, City Railway Colony, Sadar and Old City Area, Jamshed Quarter, Martin Quarter, Mahajir Osmania. Electricity supply and suspension continues in the colony as well.

    Prolonged and frequent power outages also lead to water shortages in most parts of the city, leading to urban sprawl. During the survey, the residents of Martin Quarters while talking to Express said that the non-supply of electricity from 2 pm to 7 am is the most distressing because it is the time to sleep while due to the intense heat and the abundance of mosquitoes. It is not possible to sleep on the roof of the house.

    Residents of many areas said that due to the lack of electricity throughout the night, children have to face serious problems in going to the office and school in the morning, while due to lack of time, they often miss breakfast.

    Despite paying heavy electricity bills, the citizens have demanded from the government and the authorities of the electricity supply company against the long increase in load shedding, to end the series of unjustified public and non-public load shedding, so that the citizens can continue their life in peace. and at the same time the hindrance in business activities can be removed.
