Islamabad: A memorandum of understanding was signed between Pakistan and Iran for the supply of 100 MW electricity to Gwadar.
On the instructions of Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Energy Minister Engineer Khuram Dastgir Khan visited Iran from March 10 to 13 and met his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Mehrabian there.
Khurram Dastgir’s visit is aimed at finalizing the agreement to supply electricity to Gwadar, which was initiated during the minister’s first visit in June 2022. The electricity transmission line from Iran to Gwadar is expected to be built within nine months.
This project will be formalized as soon as possible, this project will ensure uninterrupted supply to Gwadar and lay the foundation for a prosperous Gwadar.
