Jeddah: A devastating fire in a hotel located in Makkah, Saudi Arabia has resulted in the unfortunate demise of eight Pakistani individuals, while six others sustained injuries. The incident occurred at a hotel situated on Ibrahim Khalil Road, where Hajj pilgrims from Pakistan were accommodated. According to reports from Saudi media, the fire erupted abruptly on the third floor of the establishment, spreading rapidly and preventing any escape.

After persistent efforts lasting two hours, the fire brigade successfully brought the flames under control. Rescue workers promptly transferred 14 individuals to the hospital, where eight individuals were regrettably pronounced deceased. Among the injured, six individuals were identified, two of whom are presently in critical condition.

All the victims affected by this tragic event are of Pakistani nationality. At present, the cause of the fire remains unknown, prompting the formation of an inquiry committee to investigate the incident thoroughly.

The Foreign Office released a statement affirming that, under the directives of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the injured individuals are being provided with the highest quality medical care, while efforts are being made to establish contact with the relatives of the deceased to ensure necessary support and assistance.
