King Salman’s invitation to the Iranian president to visit Saudi Arabia, welcome to Iran

RIYADH/Tehran: Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi has welcomed King Salman’s invitation to visit Saudi Arabia, while the Iranian Foreign Minister has suggested three places to meet with the Saudi counterpart.

According to foreign media, the Iranian President’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Political Affairs, Mohammad Jamshidi, wrote in his tweet that the Saudi King has invited President Ibrahim Raisi to Riyadh and emphasized on strong economic and political cooperation between the two countries.

According to Mohammad Jamshidi, the Iranian president has welcomed King Salman’s invitation and said that Iran is ready to increase cooperation with Saudi Arabia.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian says that he is ready to meet Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. Three locations are under consideration for the meeting.

It should be noted that diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran were severed for seven years, but as a result of China’s efforts, diplomatic relations between the two countries were restored on March 10.

Saudi Arabia severed diplomatic relations with Iran after protesters attacked Saudi diplomats in Iran following the execution of Shia cleric Nimr al-Nimraki.

However, after the restoration of relations, each other’s embassies are likely to become active in both countries.
