New Delhi: The internet is closed in the state of Punjab for the fourth day today due to the arrest of Khalistan supporter Amrit Pal Singh by the Indian government.
Due to this shutdown, the state of 27 million people is deprived of its basic right and people are facing severe difficulties in communication.
Amrit Pal Singh is a separatist leader and head of Waris Punjab. He has been absconding for some time and the Indian police is conducting raids to arrest him.
In the past few days, there were reports that Amrit Pal Singh has been arrested. The Indian government had suspended internet services in several cities to prevent possible riots and protests, which has now been extended.
