Riyadh: Schools have been closed in northern areas of Saudi Arabia due to a dust storm.
According to the Saudi website with reference to the Department of Meteorology, there is a dust storm in most of the cities in the northern region of Saudi Arabia, which continued until 6 pm local time.
Schools were closed in areas affected by the dust storm and classes were moved online. The areas of Saka, Dumat al-Jandal, Al-Qurayat and Tabrjal were the most affected by the storm where visibility was reduced to zero.
According to the Meteorological Department, some areas of Tabuk and Hail will also be affected by the ‘black storm’. Schools in Tabuk, Al-Jawf and Hail were also closed after the warning was issued.
