President Xi Jinping has said that China will send its special representative to Kiev to resolve the Ukraine crisis.
The Reuters news agency has said with reference to the Chinese media that there was a telephone conversation between President Xi Jinping and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday.
The Chinese president has said that his representatives will hold talks with all parties to resolve the special crisis.
President Xi Jinping told the Ukrainian president that “China will promote peace talks and make efforts for a ceasefire as soon as possible.”
In early April, President Xi said he was open to talks with President Vladimir Zelensky.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy had asked for a meeting with the Chinese President several times.
President Zelensky had asked to meet with President Xi after his visit to Moscow.
This is the first contact between President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Zelensky since Russia invaded Ukraine.
The president of Ukraine has given a positive resolution to this long telephone conversation.
