KARACHI: Thunderstorms are likely to hit the city on April 28 under a new system of westerly winds, the recent heat wave is expected to ease from Thursday.
According to Chief Meteorologist Karachi Sardar Sarfraz, the maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 36.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, and the humidity level increased to 42% in the afternoon.
The Chief Meteorologist says that on April 27, a new powerful western system will enter Balochistan, as a result of which it may rain in Karachi on April 28, while heavy rains are also expected in different districts of Balochistan. I will also cause moderate and heavy rains.
According to Sardar Sarfaraz, the recent partial heat wave in Karachi may continue till Wednesday, after the effects of northwesterly winds in Balochistan disappear from Thursday, the weather is likely to gradually improve and the intensity of heat will decrease.
According to Non-Government Meteorological Analyst Jawad Memon, on April 28, a strong and prolonged westerly system of rains may form local clouds in the coastal areas, the said system may remain in effect till May 7.
According to Jawad Memon, a circulation has also formed in the Arabian Sea near Iran, due to which there is a possibility of good rain in the coastal areas of Sindh and Balochistan. In the event of a thunderstorm, there will be a risk of wind and lightning.
