Ottawa: A driver rammed a truck into pedestrians in Canada, killing 2 people.
According to a foreign news agency, 9 people were also injured in the incident that happened in the Canadian city of Quebec. The rescue personnel shifted the bodies and the injured to the hospital. Some of the injured are in critical condition.
Police officers said that the 38-year-old truck driver has been arrested. All aspects of the incident are being investigated. The ages of the persons killed in the incident were 60 and 70 years. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has expressed his condolences to the families of those killed and injured.
Eyewitnesses of the incident said that the truck first hit some pedestrians standing on the footpath and then traveled about 500 meters and hit other people as well.
