Lahore: A trophy hunt for rare Deer is scheduled in Punjab from December 15 to March 31.
The auction of trophy hunting license on behalf of the federal government will be held on December 5 at the Punjab Wildlife Office, Lahore.
Assistant Director Wildlife Punjab Mudassir Hasan said that the Aryal Punjab Trophy will be held from December 15 to March 31. The minimum license fee is $25,000.
According to Punjab Wildlife officials, hunting in Punjab Oral is allowed only in areas managed by Registered Community Organizations (CBOs).
Licensed hunters have to hunt within a week, hunting only once and without an animal outside the boundaries of Punjab. Hunters are fined and prosecuted for animals caught or injured in violation of the rules.
According to the sources, the decision to conduct trophy hunting in Punjab this year was made due to the expected number of trophy hunts in Punjab Oriel.
Sources estimate that a few years ago there were about 4,000 bears in Salt Lake alone, but since they were given national park status, hunting has increased and only 100 bears remain.
It should be noted that 80% of trophy hunting funds go to local CBOs that spend on local conservation and wildlife conservation, and 20% goes to state coffers.
