ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Justice Qazi Faiz Isa has said that a wrong decision should be made by one or the majority will remain wrong.
Addressing a function in Islamabad, Justice Qazi Faiz Isa said that the automatic notice clause was kept for the oppressed and not to benefit anyone. It should be used with extreme caution.
Justice Qazi Faiz Isa said that lies cannot be converted into truth by numbers game. The Supreme Court has the power of automatic notice. It is not written anywhere that the senior judge or the chief justice has the power. Supreme Court means all judges.
Justice Qazi Faiz further said that even today if a referendum is to be held, hardly anyone will say that Justice Munir’s decision was correct. Constitution is very important and foremost. The constitution was repeatedly attacked but the constitution remained. Constitution is a gift to us which is not given again and again.
He said that General Pervez Musharraf gave himself constitutional protection. Strange things have been done with the country’s constitution. How much history will teach seven lessons. If the big lawyers understand the constitution, there will not be many problems.
