Islamabad: A devastating incident occurred in a hotel located in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, resulting in the unfortunate demise of eight Pakistani individuals. According to a statement provided by Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the spokesperson for the Foreign Office, eight Pakistani nationals lost their lives, while six others sustained injuries as a consequence of the unfortunate hotel accident. Baloch further mentioned that our diplomatic mission in Jeddah has been actively engaged with local authorities to facilitate relief efforts.
On the 20th of April, a Pakistani family, who had just completed their Umrah pilgrimage and were en route to Riyadh, experienced a grievous traffic accident near Al-Qasim, leading to the tragic loss of nine lives. The affected family hailed from Islamnagar and Chak 18, neighboring villages of Nankana Sahib. Among the deceased were women and children, adding to the heart-wrenching nature of the incident.
Moreover, on the 16th of August last year, six Pakistani laborers tragically lost their lives in a severe traffic collision that transpired in Saudi Arabia. The fatal accident occurred when the workers’ vehicle collided with a trawler, resulting in an irrevocable loss of life.
These incidents serve as reminders of the fragile nature of human existence and the importance of prioritizing safety and well-being. The respective authorities are working diligently to provide assistance and support to those affected by these unfortunate events.
